improving accessibility in Warwickshire libraries
We have spent over £400,000 to improve access to our buildings.
Improvements include ramps, handrails, non-slip flooring, automatic doors, signage, accessible toilets, compliant fire exits, induction loops, improved counter areas, disabled parking facilities, approach to buildings and lighting.

 | induction loop system
Many of our library counters have induction loops for hearing aid users.
Switch your aid to the 'T' position, where you see this sign. |
work in progress
In 2002 all Libraries Heritage and Trading Standards properties were included in the first phase of County Council audits to establish what was required to achieve a level of accessibility required by the Disability Discrimination Act.
Work began in 2005 and will continue into 2007. However, we are not complacent and access improvements will be an integral part of future new builds and refurbishments.
accessibility features at Warwickshire Libraries
