| How to Use the Job Vacancies Database |
- Welcome to the Warwickshire County Council Job Vacancies Database. To make it easier for you to find the job you want, the database allows you to sort and display the vacancies in a number of ways.
- You can View the records by Job Title, Location, Organisation (external, type of school or council department), Date Published or Hours Worked (Full Time, Term Time, etc.).
- By choosing further options outlined below, you can move between lists and alter how they are displayed.
|
Show
This lets you decide whether to view between 30 and 150 rows in one go. The fewer rows you select, the faster the information will be displayed, but you will need to move through more pages. The more rows you select, the longer it will take for the information to be displayed, but you will able to see more jobs at once | Rows : list expanded/list collapsed
This lets you decide how much detail you wish to display you want the list to show you.
'list expanded' shows summary details for all the jobs in a category (therefore shows fewer on a page). 'list collapsed' shows only a list of headings for you to choose from (but will show more on a page). |
Refresh
Use the refresh button to make sure all the lists are up to date and showing in the way you want them to. | Search
You can use the search facility to look up specific words or phrases in the database
eg. administrator, IT, science |

If the jobs appear to be out of date...
Part of the problem may be how your web browser works. Browsers save copies of pages to disk before displaying them and to speed up moving around the web, these copies can be displayed when you re-visit a page.
Normally this is isn't a problem as the browser checks to see how old the copy of the page is and gets a fresh copy if it is too old, but there can still be occasions where you are seeing an old page (one saved on a previous visit) without realising it.
The way to be sure about this would normally be to click the "refresh" button on the toolbar which should cause the browser to go and get a new copy of the page. Sometimes even this is not enough and you have to delete the temporary internet files - in Internet Explorer there is a button to do this under "Internet Options" in one of the menus.
