Vehicle and Trailer Restrictions

Advice to Householders who own vans, pick-ups and large trailers

Van Ban Policy
Since December 1998 (with certain exceptions), household waste delivered in the above vehicles has not been accepted free of charge at Warwickshire County Councils Household Waste Recycling Centres.

The Van Ban restricts the delivery of all types of waste to Recycling Centres in vans, pick-ups and large trailers. A large trailer is one with a gross loaded weight of greater than 750kg (the weight at which the law requires a handbrake to be fitted).

The Van Ban is also applicable to waste intended for on site Recycling Shops, except The Recycle Warehouse at Princes Drive Recycling Centre, where materials may be accepted. Please call The Recycle Warehouse on tel: 01926 426369 for further information.

Permits
Householders whose only means of transport is a small car derived van or small pick-up may apply for a permit to allow them to use the site.

Acceptable vehicles will have a gross vehicle weight of no more than 2200kg (this information can usually be found on the vehicle registration document).

For further details or to request an application form please call: 01926 412593.

Please Note: Permits are not issued for transit type vehicles or trailers.
